Who we are

Istaqdim is a Jordanian platform that gathers licensed recruitment offices in one place and lets anyone looking for a domestic worker browse the workers on offer and contact the office directly. The platform also hosts labour supply companies, whose workers are shown to offices only. Istaqdim is not a recruitment office and is not a party to any agreement between you and an office.

This page explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

Browsing without an account

Browsing the site and the app needs no account and asks you for no personal data.

When you tap "WhatsApp" or "Call", or open a worker's page, we record that the event happened and when, linked to that worker and that office. The purpose is to show the office how many views and contact requests it received. What reaches the office from this record is aggregate numbers only, without your name or your number.

Note that tapping WhatsApp or Call opens a direct conversation between you and the office from your own device, and your number is visible to them exactly as it would be in any ordinary call or message. That happens outside the platform and we do not control it.

If you send a request

There are two kinds of request on the platform, and both reach real offices that read what you sent:

• A request about a specific worker: your name, phone number and note reach only the office that lists her.
• "Request a worker to your own specification": your name, phone number, city and request details reach several offices at once, so whoever has a suitable match can contact you.

Do not write anything in a request that you would not want the office to see. A request that has reached an office stays with them as a work record; we cannot pull it back once it has arrived, even if you delete your account afterwards.

If you create an account

An account is only needed to save workers to your favourites and to set your notifications. When you register we store:

• Your email address
• Your password, stored hashed with argon2id, which nobody here can read
• Your name and phone number if you choose to enter them
• The list of workers you have added to your favourites
• The date of your last sign-in

Notifications

If you enable notifications in the app we store your device's notification token, your operating system, and your preference about alerts for newly added workers. You can turn notifications off from the app settings or from your device settings at any time.

Office and supply company data

For an office we store its name, licence number, city, address, contact numbers, logo and description. For a supply company we store its name, country, city, contact numbers, logo and description.

We also ask every office and company for a copy of its licence, and offices and travel agencies for a copy of their commercial register, to verify them before the account is activated. These copies are kept in private storage that only the Istaqdim team can open, and they are never shown on the site or in the app.

The office or the company is the one that enters worker data and uploads their photos and files, and it is responsible for the accuracy of that data and for obtaining the worker's consent to being listed.

Worker data and files

For a worker we store her name, nationality, age, years of experience, languages, skills and a description, and photos, an introductory video and pages from her CV may be added.

We do not store passport numbers, national identity numbers, or images of official documents for any worker.

When a CV is uploaded as a PDF, its pages are shown to the office so it can choose which to publish. We refuse to publish any page that turns out to be a passport or an official document, and the original file is deleted after the selection. Every uploaded image has its EXIF data, including location, stripped before it is stored, and images are served from a separate content delivery domain.

Workers from supply companies are never shown to the public. Their data, photos and videos are held in a private store that cannot be opened by link, and are shown only to offices inside their own dashboards. If an office sends a worker's file to its customer, that happens through a private link that expires after a short period and which the office can revoke.

Payment

Offices are the only party that pays subscriptions. Online payments are taken by a licensed payment gateway; card details never pass through our servers and we store nothing from them. We store only the reference for the transaction and its status, for accounting.

Technical logs

To protect accounts we log the IP address alongside sensitive operations such as signing in, changing a password and administrative actions, and we limit how many attempts can come from the same address. These logs are used for security and auditing only. We also use an error monitoring service, which may receive the details of a technical error when one occurs.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it for marketing. Your data reaches the office you sent a request to, to the extent described above, and reaches nobody else. We also use service providers who process data on our behalf only:

• Server and database hosting
• Image and file storage and delivery
• Sending notifications through Apple's and Google's services
• Sending email
• The payment gateway for subscriptions
• The technical error monitoring service

We may disclose data where Jordanian law or a court order requires it.

Retention and account deletion

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, without writing to us. On deletion your personal data, your favourites and your notification tokens are removed.

View and contact-request records are kept after being detached from your account, so that they are no longer attributable to you, because the offices' statistics are built on them and must not change retroactively. Requests that have already reached offices also remain with them, as explained above.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Write to us at support@istaqdim.com and we will answer within a reasonable period.

Children

The service is intended for people aged eighteen and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page, and continuing to use the service after an update means you accept it.
